The course includes both classroom and some live-fire range work, with the range portion helping to illustrate concepts related to the law of self-defense and threat management strategies discussed in the classroom portion. As such, basic shooting and safe handgun handling skills is required.

Prerequisites
Minimum skill level required: all attendees must have basic shooting and safe handgun handling skills (loading, drawing, firing, holstering, unloading, etc.) prior to attending this course.
This course is primarily geared towards the needs of law-abiding armed citizens, and consists of both classroom work and a limited amount of live-fire range exercises. While not a shooting-skills course, attendees will get the chance to practice some of what they learned in the classroom on the range in a series of threat management (identification / assessment / response) exercises. As such, all attendees must have basic shooting and safe handgun handling skills prior to attending this course.
