With the rise of human violence in backcountry situations as well as attacks by mountain lions and other predators, we have developed a course to better prepare you for potentially dangerous backcountry encounters of the worst kind. Backcountry self defense differs from other defensive training. Animal attacks can happen with incredible swiftness. Human predators in backcountry encounters are on the rise. Basic CCW type courses, preconceived notions about animal behavior as well as disempowering beliefs and ineffective self defense strategies merely add to the probability of becoming a victim.
