Bullets and Bandages II

Duration 

Bullets & Bandages II picks up where Bullets & Bandages I leaves off and emphasizes the principles of triage and mass casualty incidents.

It also reinforces the principles of “Care Under Fire”, mission accomplishment, and self-aid in force-on-force scenarios.

Prerequisite 

This is an intermediate level class. The student needs to have completed Bullets and Bandages I and Handgun 103 or equivalent course.

Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.

Course Outline 

Upon completion of the class, the student will:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the basic principles of “Care Under Fire”
  • Utilize cover effectively
  • Demonstrate basic principles of CQB
  • Be able to triage a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)
  • Set up and organize a Casualty Collection Point
  • Recognize and treat various life-threatening injuries
  • Utilize field expedient items to treat injuries
  • Monitor and re-assess patients in a prolonged care setting
  • Prepare patients for evacuation
  • Demonstrate and utilize patient movement techniques
Required Equipment 
  • Wraparound eye protection
  • Hearing protection
  • Serviceable handgun and holster
  • Magazine pouch and 3 extra magazines
  • Seasonally appropriate clothing and footwear
  • Baseball style hat
  • Writing material/pen
  • Hydration equipment
  • Gloves (Mechanix, Oakley, Hatch, etc.)
  • Secondary, handheld flashlight
  • Sunscreen
  • Chapstick

Tuition includes free loan of firearms, holsters, safety glasses and hearing protection at the Epping, NH location.

Ammo 
  • Estimated round count: 300 rounds pistol, plus 300 rounds UTM (training ammunition)
  • For Epping, NH courses, non-toxic, non-jacketed FRANGIBLE ammunition may be required
  • Ammunition is available for purchase from the Epping facility only
